How to Use Fillers and Botox Treatment for a Natural Appearance
I do a lot of fillers and Botox at my practice, and have consulted with hundreds of patients over the years. I frequently encounter patients who express their fear of looking “frozen” or “blown up,” conjuring images from “The Real Housewives” TV series, Goldie Hawn in “The First Wives Club” (By the way, it’s amazing how many women have seen that movie!), or various Hollywood celebrities who have had a little too much work done. I totally get it!
A Minor Change Makes a Big Difference
The last thing I want to do is make a patient look unnatural. And though the prevailing aesthetic in cities like Los Angeles or Miami may be to look “done” or “expensive,” that is NOT our goal here—it’s also not in my DNA. Perhaps it’s a good thing I practice in Austin, where the natural look is more valued.
My patients are working women; teachers, professionals, executives, business owners, etc. They are serious women who simply want to look their best at whatever age they happen to be.
Wearing Your Age Proudly is the Key to Attractive Features
The goal of non-invasive cosmetic treatments is to take 5-10 years off of one’s face, not 20 or 30 years. Treatments should make you look rested and refreshed, not different. And my patients are OK with that. They are proud of their accomplishments and wisdom, as they should be. No one expects to be 20 or 30 years old again. We all just want to look and feel our best as we make our way in the world.
There’s nothing wrong with being a woman (or man) of a “certain age.” We should celebrate each stage of our life! And getting a little help from filler and Botox injectables in Austin along the way is not inconsistent with that idea. It is something nice we can do for ourselves, to help us look as good as we feel. We all deserve that!
