Vitamin D Controversy
The Food and Nutrition Board recently added to the confusion over the optimal intake of vitamin D. As my readers know, I just wrote a newsletter on the subject and I am convinced that we should all be taking vitamin D supplements (all of us who are not lifeguards, that is.) I continue to take, and recommend 1000 units of vitamin D3 daily. Many people take much more than this, and concerns about toxicity seem overblown. Read the response of the Vitamin D Council here.
